Description

The Clinical Applications Support Specialist is responsible for assisting in the identification of end-user needs, development and/or modification of system design, and education and support of end-users. Participates in the planning, design, evaluation/analysis, and implementation of automated patient data management system. Serves as translator for clinicians with systems designers, technicians and analysts.


Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Computer Management, or related field, Bachelor of Science preferred. If Registered Nurse, must be licensed to practice in the State of Ohio. Demonstrated knowledge of documentation requirements and competence in the use of current on-line documentation systems. Three to five years clinical or information systems experience required.

Clinical experience strongly preferred. Strong communication skills required to articulate the process of patient care delivery in the clinical environment, and to teach adult learners. Teaching or mentoring experience preferred. Strong analytical and organizational skills required to make recommendations for automation or clinical processes. Interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective leadership for system responsibilities and to interact effectively with a variety of hospital departments, clinicians, and outside vendors. Must be able to work effectively in groups. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
